About Me
I am so glad you are here! I hope you feel welcome. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over eight years of experience supporting the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and adults. I believe mental health needs are extremely critical right now as we manage the continued effects of the pandemic and how our world has changed. I seek to work with clients to help manage current stressors and also address past issues that might be interfering with well being. I strive to provide services that are research based, person centered and culturally informed. Most importantly, my goal is for us to work together to help you feel better and get relief.
Prior to starting a private practice, I had the privilege of working as a school-based therapist supporting students, school staff, and families. During my time in schools I saw first hand the lasting impact of traumatic stress and the developmental importance of healthy attachment. This work inspired me to became trained and later certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, a research based method for processing multiple forms of trauma. I have found this approach to be incredibly helpful in alleviating symptoms and finding new ways to process events from the past. I am always happy to talk more about how this approach and whether it could be beneficial in your case.
Outside of my work as a therapist, you might find me at the playground negotiating with my toddler or singing off key to my new baby. When I do get time for self care, I enjoy trying new restaurants with my husband or going on walks with friends. I was born and raised in Austin, Texas and spent over ten years in the California Bay Area. Both places are very special to me. I now am back in Austin and try to return to California as often as possible, especially in the months of July and August!
