Hi, I’m Anne Wiik, LCSW!

Anne Wiik, the therapist, seated at a table with a cheerful smile.

I am excited to meet you

I have lived most of my life in Texas however, I spent my development years in California. I always knew I wanted to work with people, so getting my masters in social work felt just right. I graduated from Stanford University with an undergraduate degree in Human Biology and a concentration in Child and Adolescent Functioning. I received a Masters of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley, with a specialization in Child and Family Services. I started my career working as a school-based therapist in California and Texas.  I began my private practice during the mental health crisis of the pandemic with the goal of providing accessible and quality therapy services in a virtual format. It has been a privilege to work with folks in this way and broaden our understanding of attainable mental health services. In my personal life, I enjoy playing at the playground with my two young daughters, trying out new restaurants with my husband, and listening to pop culture podcasts.

I approach therapy in these ways

I think that building a solid connection between therapist and client is crucial for creating real and lasting change. My approach involves working closely with clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their experiences, taking into account all aspects of their lives. Together, we identify the most effective therapeutic strategies that are tailored to each person's unique needs. I'm particularly dedicated to using trauma-informed techniques, and I'm proud to say that I've earned certification as an EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is a method I'm truly passionate about.  Throughout the treatment process, I check in with clients to see how therapy is feeling for them and what I could be doing to best support their process.

I uphold these values

finding help can be overwhelming, I strive to be a person you can trust

Compassionate Care

Providing a safe and empathetic space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported on their journey toward healing and growth.

Personalized Approach

Tailoring therapeutic interventions to each individual's unique needs, fostering a collaborative and effective path to well-being.

Evidence-Based Practice

Integrating well-researched and evidence-based therapeutic approaches to ensure the highest quality of care and outcomes.

Culturally Inclusive

Creating an inclusive and culturally sensitive environment that respects and embraces diverse backgrounds and identities.
